Lendventory privacy policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026
Lendventory is an app for keeping a list of your things and recording who has borrowed them. This policy explains what information the app stores, why, and what you can do about it. If you have a question, email support@lendventory.app.
What we store
Your account. Your email address, the name you choose to show other people, your password (stored only as a hash by our authentication provider), and your settings, such as dark mode, notifications and quiet hours.
What you add to the app. Items and their details (name, place, category, make and model, notes, purchase and warranty information, barcodes you scan), photos you take or choose for an item, and your records of who has what and since when.
People you add. When you record that someone has your thing, you can add them as a contact with a name and, if you choose, a phone number or email address. You type these in yourself; the app never reads your phone's address book. If you ask the app to send that person a link, we use their phone number or email address to send it.
Answers from people without an account. If someone answers a link you sent (“still have it”, “gave it back”, “never had it”), we store their answer against your record.
Friends. If you connect with friends in the app, we store the connection, the categories you have chosen to make visible to them, and requests between you, such as asks and loan requests.
Notification tokens. If you allow notifications, we store a token for your device so we can send you push notifications.
The camera is used to take item photos and to scan barcodes. Barcode scanning happens on your phone; only the resulting number is saved, and only if you save the item.
What we don't do
We don't show ads, sell your information, or share it with advertisers or data brokers. The app has no analytics or tracking libraries.
Who handles the data for us
- Supabase hosts the database, file storage and sign-in, in the United States.
- Expo delivers push notifications, through Google's and Apple's notification services.
- Twilio (text messages) and Resend (email) deliver links you ask the app to send to someone.
They process the data only to provide these services to us.
Who can see your information
Only you can see your items, records and contacts. If you connect with a friend, they can see your name and the items in categories you have marked as lendable. When you ask a friend for something, they see the ask. A person you send a link to sees your name and the item the link is about.
Security
All data travels between the app and our servers over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to each person's data is enforced by the database itself, not only by the app.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep your data while you have an account. Notifications are deleted after 90 days.
You can delete your account at any time in the app: open Profile, tap the settings (gear) icon, then Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and everything you added: items, photos, records, contacts and friend connections. Photos are removed from storage within a day.
If you can't use the app, email support@lendventory.app from the address on your account and we will delete it for you.
If someone added you as a contact and you want your details removed, email us and we will remove them.
Children
Lendventory is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
